Smith Mountain Project Relicensing Update
On April 9, 2008, the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission issued the Notice of Application Tendered for Filing with the Commission and Establishing Procedural Schedule for Licensing and Deadline For Submission of Final Amendments for the Smith Mountain Project No. 2210.

On March 26, 2008, Appalachian filed an application with the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) for a new license to continue operation of the Smith Mountain Project (No. 2210) located on the Roanoke River in Bedford, Campbell, Franklin and Pittsylvania counties of Virginia

Smith Mountain Shoreline Management Plan Update
On February 23, 2007, the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission issued an Order Amending Shoreline Management Plan allowing in-water construction to occur in areas other than those identified as Conservation/Environmental or Impact Minimization Zone from February 15 to June 15 each year for the remainder of the license (2010).
